Lies hold many secrets, but today, let me share with you a mystery about lies that scientists have recently uncovered, yet the Quran beautifully pointed to it a long time ago.

Researchers at the Institute of Neural Computation confirm that any emotion a person experiences causes changes in their facial expressions. However, these changes happen so quickly that they are difficult to notice. Therefore, the researchers developed a very advanced device to detect facial features and changes in expressions associated with lying. So, what did they discover?
The recent findings of scientists indicate that emotions, such as lying, manifest on a person’s face. For this reason, Allah Almighty said regarding disbelievers: “And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve the disapproval” [Al-Hajj: 72]. Allah connects the denial seen on their faces with their rejection and disbelief in the Book of Allah, the Almighty. Thus, the Quran correlates facial expressions with the emotions and feelings within these people’s minds regarding the Quran.
The miracle here lies in the Quran’s discussion of how lies are reflected on a person’s face. All we can say is, “Glory be to Allah.”
