The Holy Quran refers to this system in many verses\u2026.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3349 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/kaheel7.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/water-sky-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"441\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Precipitation either evaporates into the atmosphere, gets taken up by plants, flows into streams, or infiltrates the ground and recharges aquifers. Groundwater flows from inland locations to lakes, streams, or coastal waters. On the seaward side, denser salt water enters sediments and establishes equilibrium with fresh groundwater. Tides and mixing along the freshwater-saltwater interface results in seawater circulation through the sediments.<\/p>\n<p>The Holy Quran mentioned this\u00a0\u00a0system in the verse: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">(And We send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo!
