A recent German study confirms that when suspicion of a certain person is repeated, the wrong idea is well-established until the eyes see it as a reality. Psychologists say that the brain expects what the eyes will see in a familiar environment and that it doesn’t exert additional effort suddenly except when the eyes see an unexpected element. Allah, the exalted commands us to avoid suspicion. Allah says:
O ye who believe!
Avoid suspicion as much
(As possible): for suspicion
In some cases is a sin:
And spy not on each other,
Nor speak ill of each other
Behind their backs. Would any
Of you like to eat
The flesh of his dead
Brother? Nay, ye would
Abhor it… But fear God:
For God is Oft-Returning,
Most Merciful. Hujurat or the Inner Apartments: 12
Contemplate with me how Allah commands us to avoid suspicion as much as possible because little suspicion could cause problems. This exhibits how Islam pays extra attention to make people avoid the smallest problem possible.
