Researches have proven that uncovering huge parts of the body exposes people to the risk of having skin cancer, a disease that claims the lives of millions yearly. It follows that women who expose their bodies to sun rays on beaches are more likely to have such diseases. Such a fact could help us better realize why Allah, the Great, ordered women to wear Hijab. Accordingly, we are grateful to Allah for the grace of Islam. Allah, the Exalted says:
“And say to the believing women
That they should lower
Their gaze and guard
Their modesty; that they
Should not display their
Beauty and ornaments except
What (must ordinarily) appear” Nur or Light: 31
